Together we can all enjoy safe and beautiful neighborhoods, and a local government that acts with integrity and transparency.

Campaign Priorities

  • Safety & Security

Every resident should feel comfortable walking their dog, pushing a stroller, or going for a jog in their neighborhood at any time of day.

    • All streets and sidewalks should be well lit, particularly the thoroughfares during evening.

    • Anyone released from jail should be transported to where they were originally arrested.

    • Work toward walkable, widened sidewalks that accomodate bike lanes and pedestrians.

    • Enforcement of existing state laws concerning vagrancy on pubic sidewalks and at storefronts.

    • Regular police patrols in every community.

  • Beauty & Culture

The fine arts, cultural and historical attractions, and prolific green spaces citywide make our community vibrant and a joy that each of us can experience.

    • Preserve and showcase our historical buildings.

    • Maintain well manicured green spaces and street canopies, including flowers and bushes along sidewalks.

    • Showcase the beautiful tradition and diverse cultures in our area, including the encouragement of festivals.

    • Champion historic preservation (e.g., Colson Hotel).

    • New construction that follows the architectural size, scope, and design of the area.

    • Protect our sea breezes.

    • Enforce ordinances that prevent cruising city streets with loud music in the evening.

    • Enforce ordinances for audio level and/or hours for outdoor entertainment so as not to infringe on the enjoyment of patrons in adjacent establishments.

  • Respect & Transparency

From small business owners with a dream to families with young children to the retiree, each of us deserves the dignity of a local government that acts in our interest transparently.

    • Enforce the same rules for everyone—minimal exemptions for developers with full transparency.

    • Streamline the process for the average resident to get materials and permits for home improvement projects.

    • Stop the current plans being debated for the development of Ken Thompson Park.

    • Publish votes and issues on a publicized location of the city website.

    • Consistent communication between City Council and our neighborhood groups.

    • Meet with and support the needs of our small businesses.

    • Study the parking problem for employees of local establishments during work hours and propose a solution.
